Content Crush: Create an Irresistible Content Strategy Your Audience Craves
There is no one-size-fits-all content strategy. What works for one blog probably won't work for another...and why would you want it to?
Your audience is unique to you + your why + your content.
That's why I'm hosting a limited time Content Crush Planning Party. Here's how this will go down:
- Sign up by taking advantage of the presale price ($50). It will increase to $75 by Saturday and $150 by Friday, 30th August.
- Fill out the pre-survey, where you can ask questions I'll answer & make available inside the training for everyone.
- Pre-recorded training videos will be uploaded to the course dashboard starting Monday.
- As you work on the training between Monday, 26th August to Friday, 30th August, you can chat with me via Voxer or IG during my 1:1 hours about any questions or to bounce off ideas.
- Once the party ends, you'll keep your access to the training for its lifetime ― I will turn the long videos into bite-sized snippets so you can easily return to specific parts of the training.
- You'll also receive any updates to the training I add over time.
The TL;DR of everything below: This is a content planning workshop that will be released as a not-so-live training next week for 1/3 of the full price and include 1:1 access to me so you aren't going at this alone. 🤝
This training will teach you how to:
- Connect your unrelated content to each other, especially if you're multi-niche or nicheless
- Develop a content planning strategy that works for you + your site + your audience ― for the year + per quarter
- Form content pillars and topic clusters that take your audience on a journey (even the ones in the middle)
- Leverage the audience you’re already attracting and search terms you’re already ranking for to build topical authority
- Minimize extra content workload by repurposing content strategically
- Take advantage of trends or seasonal topics, regardless of your industry
This training + content planning party is for you if:
- You understand content marketing and know it’s important for growing blog/site traffic + authority.
- Niching down doesn’t feel on brand for you or you're contemplating going nicheless
- Your current content strategy is seriously lacking, or you don’t have one at all, and you’re looking for a repeatable content planning process
- Current advice doesn’t give you a chance to infuse yourself into your content, so it doesn’t feel personal
- You struggle to intertwine your content across all your channels
- You have a lot of blog/content ideas and need help corralling them
- You want to receive "fan mail" ― emails + comments from people who NEED to tell you how happy they are that you put it out there
This training is NOT for you if:
- You don’t understand content marketing or why it’s important.
- You’re looking for a comprehensive course on content marketing + SEO — this training is brief and focuses on creating your own content blend your audience will seek out. It doesn’t explain the intricacies of SEO and presumes students know enough about SEO to apply it to the course.
- You’re more interested in growing a niche blog.
I grow successful nicheless blogs, not niche blogs. The content planning strategy I teach may work for a niche blog, but I find niche blogs too constricting.
Content myths busted 🙅♀️
- “Consistency” is more than an editorial schedule. It's a state of being.
- Building topical authority isn’t about how many posts you have on a topic, but your ability to convey your know-how.
- To clarify: There is no set number of posts you need before you’re considered an authority on a topic. These superficial numbers vary. They’re made up. Someone could have 0 posts and be considered an authority. 💁♀️ It's about positioning yourself as an expert by sharing what you know.
- “The Google Sandbox” period is for site owners who are playing too hard too fast and/or those whose domains were previously used for spam (or picked up an expired domain to use for spam).
Who am I?
Hi, I'm Jane Lively! I'm autistic and have DID, which was the inspiration for this training ― I run my blog like a DID system.
I started blogging consecutively in 2010 and have run other blogs in addition to my own. Earlier this year, I sold all the "extra" blogs to focus on my own and start new blogs that reflect my special interests now.
After trying countless other courses on content planning, or promising to teach me content planning and falling short, I wrote down every step on index cards, grouped them into sections, and put those sections in the order that made the most sense.
Content planning is simple. It's everything else that makes it come together that is hard, so I decided to learn how to do it so I could help other people know how to do it, too.
My philosophy is "I struggled, so here's what I learned", rather than "I struggled, so here's how you're going to struggle, too".
I receive at least three long pieces of "fan mail" each month from people who are "so very grateful" to have found my blog or social media ― more from people who have read my articles on other sites.
I've also woken up to unexpected buy-me-a-coffee notifications thanking me for content I forgot I even had. 😅
🙋♀️ Potentially asked questions
Is this an SEO course?
No…and yes.
You’ll learn about key parts of SEO, but not SEO directly. This training teaches you how to strategically plan your content to cater to humans, not how to optimize it for search engines.
Does this have the same stuff from your content e-book?
No...it's different. (You'll be receiving an email with a video version announcement soon!)
This training takes the best of two offers (the other being my SEO course), plus extra stuff I couldn't figure out how to fit nicely into either, to create a hybrid that is executed better.
What if I need more help?
During the Content Crush Planning Party, you’ve a chance to ask me questions while you work through this course during my 1:1 office hours:
1pm-8pm central time, Monday 26th August to Friday, 30th August
If the time you have to do this is outside my 1:1 office hours, I am flexible! One of the pre-survey questions is what timeframe works best for you. While I'm in central time, I often am awake between 10pm and 4am central.
I want this party to be a success for the both of us. 😊
How much will this training be after the content planning party?
$150 for the content planning training, without 1:1 access to me (except during future content planning parties).
What kinds of questions can I ask?
- What questions do you have about content planning?
- This training contains tips for finding content ideas, but sometimes having someone to bounce ideas off helps.
Do I HAVE to use this party to plan my Q4 content?
Nope! You can use it to create a plan for any of your content, to be executed anytime.
However, I find splitting up content themes across quarters easier for targeting specific audiences, even when I'm not blogging about multiple topics at once. It gives blogs some kind of focus and predictability by taking your audience on a journey — and helps you build more sustainable topical authority.
You can totally use this Content Crush Planning Party to establish a strategic content plan to use for your blog in general, without focusing on a specific quarter or seasonal content.
Does this teach me how to use AI to help me plan content?
No. I create 100% human content and teach that. My blog content's traffic growth is attributed to covering topics, or creating certain content, before anyone else has created it...and I know how to teach how to do that, but not how to teach AI to do that.
The strategies I teach for finding better, fresher content ideas aren't large language model (LLM)-friendly (e.g. ChatGPT) because it relies on your creativity and infusing you/your personality into your content.
Will you be planning your content, too?
Yes?!
My cousin and I are starting a blog next year for when we move to Illinois, so my example throughout this training will be in relation to that. You'll learn how I plan content for a brand new blog. 💅
Do you have an affiliate program?
Yes! My shop is presently run on Gumroad, which makes affiliate marketing pretty painless for everyone involved.
